Good Week (on Steroids!)

This week seemed to fly by! Mollie was on steroids until Friday, but she sure didn't act like it. She was a little tired and I picked her up early from school twice, but she managed to go to nature club and her class field trip to a regional park. Actually, yesterday, the day after she finished her steroid pulse, was the most difficult. It was also hotter and much more humid than the rest of the week.

I had the opportunity to tell our story (Mollie's story) on Friday at a Walmart Associates meeting. Walmart is the largest local sponsor of the Children's Miracle Network and they kicked off their balloon campaign yesterday, May 1. Even though we live with cancer every day, it is always hard to tell the story of Mollie's diagnosis and how much time she has spent sick and in the hospital.

Yesterday, we went to the zoo and botanical gardens- it was a bit crowded and we didn't get to enjoy it as much as I would have liked, but I think the girls had fun. Every time we go, I end up thinking we should just skip the zoo and stay in the garden all afternoon.

Right now Mollie is busy doing a foam sticker mosaic (thanks Arn and Catherine) and we'll spend the day catching up with chores and getting ready for the week ahead.

  2. Mollie could not have a greater, more loving or more caring family. Wonderful photos. I'm still sure that Lucy is getting ready to put a frog in my pocket.

  5. So glad things are going well. Look at those beautiful photos and children. Lucy is getting so big. Love her striped pants. Finn has some similar ones. Did you make them?

  6. What healthy looking kids- all three of them. Liam in particular though looks like a little tank- in a good way. Mollie looks like such a good big sister to her younger siblings.

  8. It's so easy to forget what "normal" used to be before she was diagnosed. Sending you strength for those tough moments in the future! You do a better job than you may give yourself credit for.
