We're back

We just got back from a great mini- vacation in the North Georgia Blue Ridge mountains. We stayed at a cozy log cabin isolated from everything (4 wd required). Mollie had fun roasting marshmallows, drinking hot chocolate, and lounging by the fire.

Last week, Mollie did great at school. She has just jumped right back in like she never missed a day. She seemed concerned about her hair at first, but doesn't say much about it any more. She's more interested in talking about who likes High School Musical and who she played with at school. About the cancer, clinic, and all that other stuff: she says she doesn't really talk about it because the other kids wouldn't understand. She's right about that!

  2. We are so glad to have Mollie back at school. I "lurk" around your blog just keeping up with Mollie and how she is doing. I had thought that Colby Grace would have a few questions for me about Mollie and I wanted to know how to answer them for her. What I got instead is a lot of talk about Mollie coming back and how they are playing and having fun. There were no questions at all like I expected. She just told me “Mom, I’m happy that she’s back so we can play now. We are friends”.

Please know we have been praying for you guys, and are so glad that Mollie is back at school with her friends!

  5. How old is Mollie again!?! The wisdom of children puts "grown-ups" to shame. I'm glad you had a good vacation, and I'm thrilled Mollie is doing well.

  6. Thanks for the good comments! Mollie's school friends have been great about getting her up to speed on all the "cool" stuff-- like Hannah Montana and High School Musical. I was totally surprised that she even knew what high school was! There is one child in her class that seems bothered by Mollie's hair, but we're working with the teachers and school on it... I don't expect 4-year olds to just 'get it'. Fortunately, Mollie is handling it really well.

T- Mollie ended up preferring unroasted marshmallows, but Matt and I were happy to eat the roasted ones!
