Ideas?

First, I updated the links on the right panetl to link to our friend Rhian's fundraising page. She is running the Hibiscus Half Marathon in Hawaii, raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma society through Team in Training. Go Rhian!

Coincidentally, Mollie is also the Honored Hero for the local chapter of the LLS Team in Training. I hope Mollie can participate in something like this some day. We have met several cancer survivors who are participating locally, and they are an inspiration to us!

Finally, June 17 marks one year since Mollie was diagnosed with leukemia. I want to commemorate this somehow to remind her how far she has come from that scared little girl in the hospital. I am thinking of having this blog printed out (edited first, of course) as a book for her, but I would love to hear other ideas. That will be a tough week, I think. I get kind of teary and panicky feeling just re-living those memories.

Yes, yes, yes. Oh absolutely, print out the blog for her--with the photos... for yo and for your parents. Actually I have thought of doing that for you a couple of times, but have gotten caught up with other things. I am behind on your blog, but share with you the joy and delight of this anniversary. You have all grown so much in so many ways that you neither desired nor anticipated, but you have worked magic with the cards that you were dealt!

  3. I can't believe that only a year has passed. It seems like so much longer. I won't even try to think of how long it seems to you and Matt. Just hold on to the thought that one day this will all be a distant memory and replaced by all the memories of parties, school trips, project, dances, proms, pre-teen and teenage crazies (take it from me... our little sweet girls become momentary monsters when they hit 15). You all will have to think hard to remember anything besides joy!

  5. What about a photo album that shows the story of her progress? The photos may stick with her well, and you can still put blog clippings in. I think commemorating it any way for her is a lovely idea :)

  6. I think a photo album, with little inserts from the blog would be fabulous. You take some beautiful photos, they would make a wonderful album of how far all of you have come.
